Although the exchange of tires in our country is not mandatory, out of concern for the safety of ourselves and the persons we transport, it is worth devoting some time and money to this issue. Tires adapted to weather conditions not only affect road safety, but also increase comfort. How much does it cost to change tires on your car, and why should you do it regularly? We answer.

Changing tires in the car – when should it be done?

The condition of the tires on each vehicle requires regular checking. It is necessary to maintain safety and comfort while driving. Every driver should remember that having a vehicle, he takes responsibility not only for himself and his passengers, but also for other road users.

It’s worth regularly checking your car’s tires. This can be done, for example, during any tire pressure check. Early tire defects can be easily removed by a vulcanizer. In this way, we will avoid the high costs that can arise in the event of a major accident.

Often there are situations when the tires are already worn out so that only replacement with new ones comes into play.

What to look for when assessing the condition of tires?

Particular attention should be paid to tread height. Under current law, a fine may be obtained for tires with a tread 1.6 mm or lower. A worn tread, referred to in everyday speech as a “bald” tire, has a huge impact on driving safety.

A vehicle that has a “bald” tire becomes less adhesive to the ground. This can be felt most quickly when driving on a wet or snowy road. Such a car is not only difficult to drive, but also can get out of control and, for example, slip. Losing control of the vehicle is a very dangerous situation even for an experienced driver.

Professional vulcanization plants recommend that summer tires be replaced with new ones if the tread reaches a height of 3 millimeters. For winter tires, this value is higher and even up to 4 millimeters.

Overall technical condition of tires – cracks, bulges etc.

The general technical condition of tires is also important. All noticeable cracks, cuts, bulges and bubbles classify the tires for replacement. It is worth remembering that some of the damage can only be seen on the inside of the tire. That is why regular tire inspections at vulcanization plants are so important.

Irregularities in the condition of tires can also be detected by many drivers while driving, when the car has a significantly worse driving performance.
